The latest Microsoft Surface Pro 6 announces at a media event in New York. The trend tablet/laptop hybrid has a familiar design but updated internal components. Microsoft has updated the Surface Pro 6 with Intel’s 8th generation processors and a new matte black finish.
Although the new internal processors are compatible with quad-core processors, it’s the matte black that’s really the most striking change here. The entire Microsoft Surface Pro 6 is covered in the finish. Its appearance and appearance are very similar to those of the Surface RT and the original Surface Pro. Apart from the finish, the exterior of the device has not changed much.

This means that there are still no USB-C ports and the usual Mini DisplayPort for monitor connectivity. Microsoft also uses its usual Surface connector for power and a full USB port. The crutch of the Microsoft Surface Pro 6 is also identical to that of the previous model, next to the 12.3-inch screen on the front.
If you’ve always wanted a black Surface Pro, it’s here, but it’s really the internal changes that will make the difference. Microsoft adds Intel Core i5 quad-core processors to the latest generation. This should make this small laptop much faster and, hopefully, more energy efficient. We will test this and more when we review the Microsoft Surface Pro 6 once it is available on October 16 from $899.
Announcement of Microsoft Surface 6 Pro
The matte black finish covers the entire Microsoft Surface Pro 6 and you can replace the keyboard with different colors as usual. The black color of Microsoft is not the only novelty here. Panos Panay, head of Microsoft Surface at Microsoft, said the company has remade the interior of Surface Pro 6 to improve cooling.
This means that the Surface Pro 6 now supports quad-core processors, and Microsoft says it will be 67 percent faster than the previous model.
This new internal design should also help improve battery life. Microsoft says the Surface Pro 6 will have a battery life of 13.5 hours. Although there is an internal redesign, the exterior seems very familiar. It is still 1.7 pounds, and it has the same 12.3-inch screen and up to 16GB of RAM inside.
Unfortunately, the Surface Pro 6 will have the same connectivity and external design as the existing model, which means there are still no USB-C ports. It is surprising that Microsoft still does not adopt USB-C in its flagship Surface Pro product, especially since the company introduced this new connector on both Surfaces Go and Surface Book 2.
Microsoft announces that the Surface Pro 6 will start at $ 899 with an Intel Core i5 processor and will be available Oct. 16.
